Adopt a Family Program

Continuing our annual tradition for the holidays, the Valley Glen Neighborhood Association adopted nine families, two each from Erwin, Monlux and Grant and three from Kittridge. We also provided for a number of “special need” families through the Jewish Family Services as well as providing for many “youngsters “ at Activities for Retarded Children (ARC). The increase in the number of families we were able to adopt was once again made possible due to the generous donation by Imperial Capital Bank, the generosity of Doha Zohbi and the parents at the Exploring Minds Montessori School and our many generous individual donors.

Special thanks to Asta Criss who coordinated the turkey/stocking effort, to Mirna Pajuelo for her help in being the translator for the Spanish speaking families and to the school nurses, administrators and personnel who helped identify the families. Each family received Target gift cards , Vallarta and Ralph’s gift cards, a turkey, and stuffed stockings for every child. Trust me when I say, you have touched the lives of these families and youngsters giving them a special Christmas to remember.
